A message from Santa

With Portable North Pole you can send a customized message to your loved ones, delivered by Santa Clause himself.

Living in a Harry Potter world

from Legs Media at Vimeo

This is Marie Claire's Dezember Cover for the Ipad version of the magazine. I think it is the coolest thing since first reading about the moving pictures in the Daily Prophet! How fitting that the model is Emma Watson (isn't she beautiful?).

What do you think?

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I went to see the new Harry Potter movie last monday.

These were my thoughts immediately afterwards

Did you see it already? Did you like it?
I liked it a lot and I can't wait to see part 2... and part 1 again.
I really want to pick up book 7 now and read the second half because (confession time) I hardly remember a thing. When I got the book, I brushed through it so quickly to find out how and if everything works out at the end... and then I never had the time to go back in read it again (slowly and thoroughly that time) as I intended. Maybe that's nice project for the christmas break.

Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover

Just a short video about a makeup remover from Clinique. I really want to like Clinique (I love some of the mascaras for example) but some products just aren't for me...

Do you use Clinique products? What is your experience with the brand?

The stuff women carry around...

I really love the "What's in my bag" videos on youtube, so it was only natural that I wanted to do one of my own!

What do you lug around? Do you miss anything in my bag? Any tipps and tricks?

A sunday field trip.. and I take you along!

 Hey everybody,
this whole youtube thing (my channel) is actually a lot of fun... so I took my camera along yesterday.

Lesson #1: I need a bigger memory card, as I ran out of space pretty quickly

Lesson #2: Yes, people will think you are crazy when they see you talking to yourself in public..... in a foreign language

Lesson #3: Don't tilt the camera while filming (*cough*)

So jump on board and join me on my trip to Rheinbach, a small city nearby.

Tell me... do you want more videos?
German or English?
Subjects? (trips, makeup, books..... any ideas?)

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this topic.

Take care!

German: Review P2 Coquette Powder + Blush

This product is a limited edition product only available in Germany/Austria (Switzerland? Dunno...), therefore I decided to make the video in german.

P2: Coquette Powder and Blush (Limited Edition: "Meet me at 12:30", available NOW)

In short: it is a cream-to-powder foundation plus a cream blush. I like the blush, which is quite naturally looking (a red with a golden undertone), but I am not sold on the powder, which really enhanced any dry parts of my skin. I used it as a concealer yesterday and today, this was lovely and is my recommended use!

Conclusion: If you really like the blush, go for it, otherwise don't.

Small print: Bought by myself for myself :)

10 weeks???

With christmas a mere 10 weeks away... wait.. How did THAT happen? I nearly fainted when someone told me yesterday! I mean, I noticed the days getting shorter, the temperature dropping and the omnipresent christmas chocolate and Lebkuchen in the supermarkets... but 10 weeks?

Anyway, where was I?

Oh right, this is just a reminder for my friends in Germany: If you like the Alnatura tea advent calendar as much as I do (1 bag of delicious organic tea for each day from dec 1st till christmas), go and get it now! I noticed it sold out quickly last year. I got mine at DM, you can check other locations to buy Alnatura products here

Yummy tea!

Did you see this clip from the finale of Australia's Next Top Model?

The poor girl! But I think both girls were really classy about it, especially the now second runner. Hats off.

Mermaid or Whale?

This is going around in the blogsphere... even so there seems to be a disagreement about the location of the "large city" - Australia or France?
Nevertheless, I love this sassy respond.

Recently, in a large city, a poster featuring a young, thin and tan woman appeared in the window of a gym. It said, “This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?”

A middle-aged woman, whose physical characteristics did not match those of the woman on the poster, responded publicly to the question posed by the gym.

To Whom It May Concern,

Whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, sea lions, curious humans.) They have an active sex life, get pregnant and have adorable baby whales. They have a wonderful time with dolphins stuffing themselves with shrimp. They play and swim in the seas, seeing wonderful places like Patagonia, the Bering Sea and the coral reefs of Polynesia.

Whales are wonderful singers and have even recorded CDs. They are incredible creatures and virtually have no predators other than humans.

They are loved, protected and admired by almost everyone in the world.

Mermaids don’t exist.

If they did exist, they would be lining up outside the offices of Argentinean psychoanalysts due to identity crisis. Fish or human? They don’t have a sex life because they kill men who get close to them, not to mention how could they have sex? Just look at them… where is IT?

Therefore, they don’t have kids either.

Not to mention, who wants to get close to a girl who smells like a fish store?

The choice is perfectly clear to me: I want to be a whale.

P.S. We are in an age when media puts into our heads the idea that only skinny people are beautiful, but I prefer to enjoy an ice cream with my kids, a good dinner with a man who makes me shiver, and a piece of chocolate with my friends.

With time, we gain weight because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room, it distributes out to the rest of our bodies. So we aren’t heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated and happy.

Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, “Good grief, look how smart I am!”

Search Bar

Geek in Heels (go, check her blog!) complained about the lack of search bars in sites.
So everybody, close your eyes, move your head to the right, tilt your head down a bit - not so far!- open your eyes - TAAAAADAAAAAA: a search bar for this blog! *pads herself on shoulder*

Thank you for the suggestion, I did not think about including one before.

Die Hebammen von London - Edith Beleites

Klappentext

London im 18. Jahrhundert.

Brontë Sisters and growing up

Libba Bray tweeted about this (via Bookshelves of doom)

I love it. Love love love it. I was the girl who was jealous of my friends He-Man action figures but I never had any of my own. I also loved Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs (anyone else stuck with the song in the head now? ok, then it is just me). I always wanted to be April when I grow up.
Alas, where am I know? Tragedy.

Anyway, I am feeling generous today, so here you go:

And now all together! Saaaabeeer rideeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer....

What anime/cartoon series did you like? Who was your favourite character? And did you have action figures (prepare for me being jealous!)?

Penis size by State and City - or: See, statistics can be fun :)

Condomania released a penis size study! *LOL*

I am wondering how this study was conducted. Maybe Utah is on the "short" side because Mormons don't lie?

I like Comment Nr 3

Funny how teeny-weenies are all clustered in redneck states. The louder the tea-bagger, the smaller the junk.
